We (“we,” “us”) operate the BeWalking mobile app and this website at bewalking.app. This policy explains what the app accesses, what stays on your device, and how to contact us. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or site.

Summary

• Step counts, history, preferences, and optional daily marks are stored on your device (and read from Apple Health only when you grant permission).
• We do not require an account or sign-in.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
• We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

App covered

BeWalking — Apple App Store id766322908 (bundle com.4kiq.BeWalking). An Android edition may be offered later under package com.bewalking.bewalking; this policy will apply when it is available.

Health & motion data

When you use BeWalking, the app may access:

• Motion & Fitness (Core Motion on iOS) to count steps, estimate distance, and detect floors climbed while you carry your phone.
• Apple Health (HealthKit on iOS), if you allow it, to read step counts and flights climbed for today and historical days. BeWalking is designed to read—not write—this data in Health.
• Health Connect (Android), when the Android app is available and you allow it, for similar read-only display and history.

This information is processed on your device to show today’s count, charts, statistics, widgets, and Apple Watch glances. We do not operate a cloud service that stores your ongoing step stream for core features.

BeWalking does not use GPS or continuous location tracking for step counting.

Apple Watch & widgets

• Widget extensions read a snapshot written by the main app into a shared app group on your iPhone.
• The Apple Watch app receives step snapshots from your iPhone via Apple’s WatchConnectivity; watch data is stored on your devices.

Other on-device data

• Display preferences (such as kilometers or miles) and an optional daily step mark
• History and statistics in the app’s local storage
• PDF reports generated on your device when you export

Network use

Core step tracking works without sending your step history to our servers. The app may make occasional network requests for App Store–related version checks built into legacy components; those requests do not include your step data.

When you contact us

If you email us at support@bewalking.app (from the in-app mail sheet, our Support form, or your own email app), we receive whatever you choose to send. We use that only to respond and improve support.

Notifications

BeWalking does not request push notification permission for step reminders. Any future notification features would be optional and described in the app before you enable them.

Purchases

BeWalking is sold as a paid upfront app on the App Store with no in-app purchases and no ads. Payment is processed by Apple; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

App Store & Google Play

Downloads, updates, and store transactions are handled by Apple . Their privacy policies apply to those services: apple.com/legal/privacy .

This website

bewalking.app is a marketing and legal site. It does not collect step data and does not use login or third-party ad networks for tracking. Your hosting provider may log routine server access (IP address, browser type, requested path) for security; we do not use those logs to identify visitors.

Children

BeWalking is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will help you remove it where applicable.

Data retention and deletion

• App: Uninstall the app to remove on-device data. Revoke Health or Motion access in system Settings if desired.
• Email: We retain support emails only as long as needed for correspondence and reasonable business records.

Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to a local-first fitness app. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

International users

If you access the app or site from outside the United States, you understand that contact emails may be processed in the United States or where our email provider operates.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
